Facebook Adds New 'Thankful' Reaction on Mother's Day Sunday May 08,2016

In tune with the spirit of the day, Facebook has added a new reaction to its existing set of reactions which serve as an alternative to the 'Like' button.

Commemorating Mother's Day, Facebook has added a purple flower to its Reactions tray that stands for 'thankful'. This is in addition to the previous 'Love, 'Haha', 'Wow', 'Sad', and 'Angry' reactions.

Facebook recently introduced Reactions as an alternative to the standard 'Like' button - a choice long sought by users for certain posts which needed more than just a like or share button.

It is unclear if the new 'Thankful' reaction will stay or is a temporary addition to mark Mother's Day today.
