2016 Australian Open Women's Singles QF - Johanna Konta beats Shuai Zhang(China) 6-4 6-1 to enter the SF's Wednesday January 27,2016

Opportunity knocked for Johanna Konta and she seized it with both hands to go storming into the semi-finals of the Australian Open.

The 24 year-old British No 1, who had never even played in the main draw of this event before, defeated China's Shuai Zhang 6-4 6-1 in an hour and 23 minutes.

Johanna Konta thereby becomes the first British woman since Jo Durie at the 1983 US Open to make the last four of a Grand Slam
