The Supreme Court of India (SCI)on Wednesday Dec 16,2015 ordered fresh testing of Nestle India's Maggi noodles at a Mysore lab.
The SC also stayed the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission's (NCDRC) order of testing the noodles at Chennai lab.
The NCDRC had, in a recent order, sent 16 samples of Maggi noodles for further testing.
The SC tagged Nestle's appeal against the NCDRC order with a plea filed by food regulator Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) against the Bombay High Court's verdict. The Bombay HC had lifted the ban on nine variants of Maggi noodles, five months after it was effected, asking the company to go for fresh tests.
In the fresh petition, the company has challenged the order passed by the NCDRC.
