Terry Phelan takes over as Kerala Blasters coach Sunday Nov 01,2015

Former Manchester City and Chelsea defender Terry Phelan has taken charge as ISL outfit Kerala Blasters' head coach.

Terry Phelan replaces Peter Taylor at the helm after the latter was shown the door following four consecutive defeats.

Terry Phelan has been working the Technical director of Kerala Blasters' grassroots programme since April.

The 48-year-old has represented the Ireland national team 42 times and played in the English Premier League, representing the likes of City, Chelsea, Everton, Crystal Palace and Fulham.

Terry Phelan had coaching stints in the UK, Ireland, USA and New Zealand.

He is also familiar with the coaching arena in India, since he had been a mentor at SESA Goa.

Blasters are currently at the bottom of the ISL table, with five points from seven matches.
