The Tamil Nadu Government has banned two books —

The book ‘Madurai Veeran Unmai Varalaur’ was published by Adhi Tamizhar Peravai in Tiruchi
''The State government is of the opinion that the book contains assertions that are certain to cause disharmony and feeling of enmity between different castes and communities and promote communal tension affecting public peace and tranquility,” said an order issued by Home Secretary Apurva Varma.
- Venthar Kulathin Iruppidam Ethu, penned by K. Senthil Mallar and
- Madurai Veeran Unmai Varalaru written by Kuzhanthai Royappan

August 19,2015 order
The order, issued on August 19,2015 has also listed portions culled out from
the book to justify its ban and forfeited the books prints, copies,
reprints, translation and other documents.
