Samsung proposes micro-satellites to provide fast Internet throughout the world

Samsung Electronics has released a report on how to make the Internet available throughout the world, even in its most remote areas.

In a report by Farooq Khan, Samsung President of R&D America, a solution to achieving worldwide, extra-fast Internet access is proposed: "Space Internet."

Farooq Khan suggests using thousands of tiny, low-Earth orbit satellites to beam Internet all over the planet. Four thousand six hundred of these micro-satellites would be enough to provide 200GB per month to five billion Internet users
