Shikhar Dhawan's Dream Test Debut -Saturday March 16,2013


Shikhar Dhawan made his Test debut in Mohali in the 3rd Test Match against Australia on Saturday March 16,2013 when he walked out with Murali Vijay  and fashioned an innings of such confidence and precision.

  • Shikhar Dhawan by scoring 100 in 85 Balls becomes the fastest debutant century scorer surpassing the 93 ball century scored by Dwayne Smith(West Indies) against South Africa in 2004.

  • Shikhar Dhawan is now the 13th Indian batsman to mark his debut with a century

  • Shikhar Dhawan is the 1st Indian to score 150*+ Runs on a Debut Test Match(150 off 131 balls with 4x29 and 6x1)

  • By scoring 185 on Day 3, Shikhar Dhawan become India's most successful batsman on Test debut, having surpassed Gundappa Vishwanath's 137 scored against Australia at Kanpur in 1969

  • By scoring 185* on Day 3,  Shikhar Dhawan has surpassed the Indian record of most runs in debut match held by Lala Amarnath who made 156 (38 & 118 in 2 innings) against England (1933) in Mumbai.
