The International Film Festival of India (IFFI), founded in 1952, is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia and is held annually in Goa.The festival is conducted jointly by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Government of Goa.
The 1st edition of IFFI was organized by the Films Division, Government of India, with the patronage of the first Prime Minister of India and was held in Bombay from Jan 24 - Feb 01,1952

- Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar inaugurated the 43rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI)
- Over 160 films from over 70 different countries will be screened at the 43rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI)
- "Life of Pi will be the opening film at IFFI. The film will be premiering on November 20 while the closing film will be Mira Nair's political thriller 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist'," Shankar Mohan, Director of IFFI, told
- Turkey is the 'Country Focus' at the 43rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) this year which will commence in Panaji from November 20,2012.A total of eight movies - Do Not Forget Me Istanbul, Hidden Lives, Love and Revolution, The Son, The Stranger, Trace, Voice of My Father and Where the Fire Burns- have been selected from Turkey to be showcased at the 11-day long festival festival
- As many as 47 films will be screened in the Indian Panorama section at the 43rd International Film festival of India (IFFI).Out of the 47, 26 are feature films and 21 are non-feature films in different Indian languages.
- Manoj Srivastava, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Entertainment Society of Goa, which co-organises the festival, said on Tuesday Nov 20,2012 a cinematic tribute to Yash Chopra and Rajesh Khanna was on the cards.Yash Chopra earned the tag of King of Romance after churning out romatic sagas "Daag", "Kabhi Kabhie", "Silsila", "Lamhe", "Chandni" and "Dil To Pagal Hai".
