NDA Govt Extends Deadline to Obtain Aadhaar Till December 31,2017

The NDA Government has extended deadline to obtain Aadhaar till December 31, 2017 Attorney General KK Venugopal informed the Supreme Court on Wednesday August 30,2017

The AG said for all schemes the date to get Aadhaar has been extended till December 31.

The apex court is likely to hear the Aadhaar case in first week of November.

The AG sought a five-judge Constitution Bench to hear Aadhaar cases.

The deadline for taxpayers to link their Permanent Account Number with Aadhaar remains August 31. UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey had said last week that the Supreme Court of India verdict on right to privacy has no bearing on the requirement.

The requirement for Aadhaar being quoted for availing government subsidies, welfare schemes and other benefits will also continue unhindered for now, he had told
