Debit card usage zooms post demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 Notes on Nov 08,2016

Till recently, though more debit cards had been issued than credit cards, people preferred spending using the latter. 

However, demonetisation hasn’t just driven change -- usage of debit cards has jumped to 60% -- banks are seeing stickiness.
