As Central government puts curbs on exchange of Rs 1000 and 500 notes at banks and allowed only Rs 500 notes for essentials till December 15, here are some of the things you can do with your old Rs 500 notes.

1. Petrol Pumps to accept old Rs 500 notes till December 15
2. Govt Hospitals to accept old Rs 500 notes till December 15
3. Payment of School Fees Upto Rs 2000 allowed in Central Schools, State Govt Schools, Municipalities and local body schools
4. Purchases at Consumer Cooperative Stores limited to Rs. 5000
5. Toll payment at toll plazas may be made through old Rs 500 notes till December 15
6. Current payments and arrears for utilities using Rs 500 old notes limited to only water and electricity
7. Rs 500 notes can also be deposited in bank and post office savings accounts
