S Badrinath goes past 10,000 runs in First-Class cricket

The 36-year old Hyderabad middle-order batsman S Badrinath added another achievement in his First-Class (FC) cricket career. During his course of 134-run mark against Chhattisgarh in the ongoing Ranji Trophy match at Valsad, Badrinath went past 10,000 runs in FC cricket.

With his 134-run knock against Chhattisgarh, he also went past Rashmi Parida (7,516 runs), Shitanshu Kotak (7,607 runs), Pankaj Dharmani (7,621 runs) and Amarjit Kaypee (7,623 runs) and is now sixth highest run-getter in Ranji Trophy tournament.

S Badrinath’s tally of 7,650 runs in Ranji Trophy is only behind Wasim Jaffer (10,143 runs), Amol Mazumdar (9,202 runs), Devendra Bundela (8,567 runs), Mithun Manhas (8,554 runs) and Hemant Kanitkar (8,059 runs).

Currently, he has now 10,045 runs in FC at an impressive average of 55.19

S Badrinath began his FC career by representing Tamil Nadu in 2000-01 and soon became one of most important batsman of the team.

In the year 2009, Badrinath played an excellent knock  of 250 runs against Mumbai in Ranji Trophy to gain the innings lead.

Later, in the year 2010, Badrinath made his Test debut and scored an impressive 56-run knock against South Africa.

His Test career lasted only for two Tests and never got any further chances to represent the Indian side.
