Demonetisation of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 Notes - Old notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 acceptable till November 24,2016

Finance Ministry, on early Monday morning Nov 14,2016 announced that the demonetised notes​ of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 would be acceptable at government hospitals, petrol stations and toll booths till November 24,2016

The old notes can also be used for making payments in private and state pharmacies, to make bill payment in water and electricity utilities.

Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das announced on Monday, after the meeting held at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence  with senior ministers past midnight to review demonetisation and its impact.
