It's the Australian music industry's night of nights.
And the 2016 ARIA Awards kicked off in spectacular fashion on Wednesday Nov 23,2016
The
show began with a number of performances while marriage equality went
into the forefront, with Kylie Minogue, fiance Joshua Sasse and Sia also
raising awareness about it at the event.
Pop princess Kyle and her man Joshua
walked on stage to introduce Troye Sivan's performance at one point of
the show, when they gave an empowered speech about marriage equality.
'We are
here to introduce a shining light in there Australian music industry,
but we are also here to say thank you to everyone who supported Josh's
campaign for equality,' Kylie said.
Joshua
then continued: 'Thank you. Sweetheart. This is more than just a
movement. This is people's lives, and we want to say to every single
member of the LGBT community - you are not alone.'
