Great Britain's Justin Rose became the first Olympic golf champion in 112 years, outdueling Sweden's Henrik Stenson in a tension-packed final-round thriller for a historic gold medal at Rio 2016
The 36-year-old Englishman pitched the ball 18 inches from the cup on the par-5 18th hole and sank the birdie putt to beat Stenson by two strokes for the greatest triumph of his life on Sunday Aug 14,2016
Justin Rose who won the US Open in 2013, led the competition heading into a final
round which ultimately turned into a duel with Open champion Henrik
Stenson.
Momentum swayed between the two Major winners before they headed down the 18th level on 15-under, with Olympic gold at stake.
