Former Barcelona footballer Carles Puyol


Former Barcelona footballer Carles Puyol (DOB April 13,1978)is the very definition of a "one club" footballer, playing 593 times for Catalan giants FC Barcelona in a career which ended in 2014, winning Spain's La Liga six times and the Champions League on three occasions.

As well as his 100 caps for Spain, he also played for an unofficial Catalonia "national" side six times.

A One-Club player, he served as the longtime team captain for his only club Barcelona (1999-2014)after taking over from Luis Enrique in August 2004, and went on to appear in 593 official games for the club and win 21 major titles, notably 6 La Liga trophies and 3Champions League

A Spanish International on 100 occasions(2000-13), Puyol was part of the squad that won the UEFA Euro 2008 and the  2010 World Cup tournaments.
In the latter competition's semifinal, he scored the only goal of the match against Germany
