A pre-tournament study revealed that Belgium's squad was the most expensive amongst all the countries on view at Euro 2016 - worth a total of £318.9m, an average of £13.8m per player.

Based on that valuation, one single Belgian player is worth more than the entire Hungary squad, who were rated at £12m.

 Incidentally, that figure ranked the Hungarians 22nd of the 24 nations that reached the finals.

  • The countries have met 12 times previously. Belgium have eight wins, Hungary two whilst there have been two draws.
  • Belgium have won six of their last eight matches against Hungary, including the last four (D2).
  • Belgium and Hungary have not met in a competitive match since a 1-1 draw at the 1982 World Cup. That day the Red Devils scored a late equaliser to reach the second phase ahead of their rivals.
  • Hungary's last victory was a 3-1 friendly triumph back in November 1958.

Eden Hazard scored his first goal in the 79th minute of Euro 2016 as Belgium cruised into the quarter-finals with a 4-0 win to end Hungary's fairytale campaign.

Belgium go into the European Championship quarter-finals for the first time since losing the 1980 final.

They were dominant throughout at Stadium de Toulouse after Toby Alderweireld headed them into a 10th minute lead.

Michy Batshuayi came off the bench to punish Hungary when he ran in unmarked after the hour to first-time his shot past Kiraly in the 78th minute
The 'keeper was then left clutching at thin air when Hazard ran across the edge of the area unchallenged to beat him at his far post.

Carrasco added their fourth in the first minute of added on time when he powered down the middle on the counter to beat Kiraly.

Belgium now meet Wales in Lille looking for a place in the SF's
