2016 Golden Globe Awards Winners List

 

The 73rd Golden Globe Awards were held on Sunday January 10 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California,USA.

 

 

 The Revenant took home three awards, for Best Film (Drama), Best Director and Best Actor (Drama)

'The Revenant' won best film, drama, as well as best director for Inarritu and best actor for Leonardo DiCaprio. 

Though Inarritu had a similar run at the Academy Awards last year with the best-picture winning "Birdman," he won only a share of best screenplay at last year's Globes.

Nominated for the same character that earned him his only other Golden Globe nod, Sylvester Stallone took best supporting actor for the "Rocky" sequel-reboot "Creed.

  Sylvester Stallone's three daughters Sistine, Sophia and Scarlet looked absolutely phenomenal donning floor-length gowns

Jennifer Lawrence won the Best Actress (Musical or Comedy) Golden Globe for her in Joy. Jennifer Lawrence beat actress Melissa Mccarthy (Spy), Amy Schumer (Trainwreck), Maggie Smith (The Lady In The Van) and Lily Tomlin (Grandma) to win the top award

 

Jennifer Lawrence's Joy is a semi-biographical drama film loosely based on Joy Mangano, a self-made millionaire who created her own business empire.

Matt Damon won the Golden Globe for Best Actor (Musical Or Comedy) for his role in space drama film The Martian beating Christian Bale and Steve Carell for The Big Short, Al Pacino for Danny Collins and Mark Ruffalo for Infinitely Polar Bear

 

 

 Kate Winslet won the Best Supporting Actress for ' Steve Jobs '


Best foreign language film went to Hungary's Laszlo Nemes' "Son of Saul," a harrowing view of life inside Auschwitz. Said Nemes: "The Holocaust over the years has become an abstraction. For me, it is more of a face. Let us not forget this face."

Best animated film went to Pixar's acclaimed "Inside Out." Lady Gaga, who has seven Grammys, won her first major acting honor for her performance on the anthology series "American Horror Story." Gaga compared the sensation to being like Cher in "Moonstruck."
