Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited has donated a battery
car, worth Rs. 7.50 lakh, to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital
(TVMCH) for taking patients within the hospital premises.
At
a simple function organised at the TVMCH on Wednesday Nov 18,2015, Managing
Director and Chief Executive Officer of TMB Upendra Kamath handed over
the keys of the battery car to Dean K. Sithy Athiya Munavarah.
Speaking
on the occasion, Mr. Kamath said that the TMB, which was offering a
range of banking services to the common man, had dedicated itself for
the uplift of the poor and had been spending a significant portion of
its revenue under its Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
As the TMB celebrated its founder’s day recently, it was decided to donate the battery car to the TVMCH.
“Apart
from the driver, eight patients can be taken from one place to the
other at a time and the car can be operated for about 65 km after
getting charged. The TMB believes that this car will be of great use to
the patients and the administration,” Mr. Kamath noted.
Senior doctors of the TVMCH and TMB officials were present
