NDA Govt gives Rs 96.70 crore to Delhi government for 'Swacch Delhi Abhiyan'

 
The Centre and Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi have come together to kickstart the 'Swacch Delhi' campaign. The Centre has given Rs 96.70 crore to the Delhi government for the initiative.

Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu along with Kejriwal inaugurated the 'Swacch Delhi Abhiyan', a cleaniness drive, a joint initiative of the central government, Delhi government and all three muncipal corporations of the city, on November 22,2015

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, "AAP, BJP coming together politically is the most important message. We will take delhi to greater heights."

On Monday Nov 24,2015,Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched 'Swacch Delhi' app enabling residents to apprise authorities with pics of garbage, and announced 'Swacch Delhi Abhiyan' from November 22 to 30.
'Swacch Delhi' app, that turned effective from Monday, has enabled residents to click pictures of garbage and apprise a centralised control room that will direct the concerned government body to attend the complaint.
"The mobile application can be downloaded by giving a missed call on the number 7666400400. The user will get a message with the link to download the application," Kejriwal had said.
"Once you use the application and send us the picture of the garbage, we will automatically get the exact location and the longitude of the place. So, it will be convenient for the residents and local bodies (MCD and PWD) to track the location accurately and clean it," he had added.

Municipal corporations will be responsible to collect the garbage and Delhi government's Public Works Department (PWD) for the debris' collection.

All the information sent via Swacch Delhi app will also go to the central control room that will store the information as database.
