The Lok Sabha on Friday June 06,2014 got its second woman Speaker as all the parties unanimously elected BJP MP Sumitra Mahajan for the top post -First Woman Speaker being 15th Lok Sabha's Meira Kumar(INC)
Sumitra Mahajan(71)was elected after the 29 new members were administered oath as members of the 16th Lok Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked all the political parties for the unanimous election of new Speaker.
