One Stop Crisis Center  (OSCC)

  • The  OSCC, in a way and if implemented properly, represents a watershed on women’s rights.
  • The following are the main functions of an OSCC:
  • Provide crisis intervention services-  immediate emotional and counseling support
  • Help in registration of police complaints (Police officer to be deputed) since the FIR takes long many times
  • Discuss safety of the survivor  and devise a safety plan for survivors  (link with WCD shelter home for women)
  • Have a visiting lawyer for legal counselling
  • Establish necessary forensic evidence
  • If required, link the survivor with the government scheme for her economic rehabilitation (Mahila Sashaktikaran Yojana by WCD for eg or injury compensation scheme)
