Vladimir Luxuria,a transgender former MP from Italy(was an MP in the 2006 Prodi government)has been arrested at the Winter Olympics in Sochi for carrying a banner that said ‘It’s OK to be gay.’
Vladimir Luxuria, the first transgender MP of any European country, was taken into police custody shortly after posing for a photograph at the Olympic site holding a rainbow umbrella and fan.
After a swift diplomatic intervention by the Italian Govt she was freed overnight
