Human SKULL comes to life using models and body paint

Ornate sugar skulls are normally made for an ancient Mexican festival called the Day of the Dead but a closer inspection shows this one is very much alive.

The spectacular example of the brightly colored icon - traditionally used to honor loved ones who have passed - is in fact the work of a clever bodypainter who has used seven life models to create it.

Cheryl Lipstreu covered the bodies of the naked women in sparkling white paint and brightly coloured patterns.

When the models all get into position they form a perfect sugar skull.

The artist initially positioned all the models on the floor and then roughly sketched out a design on them
