Rashtriya
Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad and Janata Dal-United stalwart Nitish
Kumar may have been bitter political foes over the years, but the
disastrous performance of their parties in the recent Lok Sabha election
appears to have brought them closer for the first time in the past 20
years.
In a gesture signaling the end of acrimonious hostilities since the two
parted ways in 1994, Lalu on Thursday announced his party's
'unconditional' support to the JD(U) government headed by chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi - a day before it will seek trust vote
in the Assembly.
"The RJD has decided to offer unconditional support to the Manjhi government from outside," Lalu said.
"We will see to it that it completes its full term."
