Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad announce unconditional support to the JD(U) government headed by chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi Thursday May22,2014

Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad and Janata Dal-United stalwart Nitish Kumar may have been bitter political foes over the years, but the disastrous performance of their parties in the recent Lok Sabha election appears to have brought them closer for the first time in the past 20 years.
In a gesture signaling the end of acrimonious hostilities since the two parted ways in 1994, Lalu on Thursday announced his party's 'unconditional' support to the JD(U) government headed by chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi - a day before it will seek trust vote in the Assembly.
"The RJD has decided to offer unconditional support to the Manjhi government from outside," Lalu said.
"We will see to it that it completes its full term."

Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad Yadav's support comes only a few days after he vehemently ruled out the possibility of any talks with the JD(U) in the wake of the landslide victory of the BJP in Bihar.

The RJD's leader of the Opposition Abdul Bari Siddiqui said that his party had decided to support the JD-U Govt as the new CM hailed from the Mahadalit community.
Jitan Ram Manjhi said: "If they (RJD) have been claiming to champion the cause of the poor and the mahadalit, they should unanimously support the government."
Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar were last together as part of the Janata Dal in the early 1990s.
