Michigan Gas Stations Become First in the US to Sell Gas for Under $1 in Fuel Price War

Several gas stations in Michigan have become the first in the country to start selling fuel for less than one dollar per gallon.

Customers in Houghton Lake have been taking advantage of the lower prices which appears to have sparked a price war in the area

It is believed the Beacon and Bridge Market and the Marathon gas station are the first stations to bring prices below a liter in the US for years

While it is possible the stations may return their prices up to over a dollar, the Beacon and Bridge station currently holds its price at a surprisingly low 78 cents per gallon.

The prices reflect the slump in the price of oil, with the global crude oil prices in free-fall for the past two years
