Pistol shooter Heena Sidhu earned an Olympic quota for India as she
bagged gold in the 10 metre air pistol for women at the Asia Olympic
Qualifying Competition in New Delhi on Wednesday January 27,2016
Sidhu, who is a former world No 1, qualified for the final after she
totaled 387 points during the qualification round, finishing on top.
Going in the final, the odds were simple for Sidhu. Four out of the
eight finalists were not eligible to win the quota as Chinese Taipei’s
Tien Chia Chen, Yu Ai Wen and Wu Chia Ying and South Korea’s Gim Yun Mi
had exhausted their quotas.
