Virat Kohli on Sunday added another feather to his hat as he became the fastest man to score 7000 one-day international (ODI) runs and the fastest to reach 24 centuries in the format.

The 24 ODI centuries scored by Virat Kohli
1. Kohli scored his maiden ODI ton, 107 runs off 114 balls against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in 2009.
2. Unbeaten 102 runs off 92 balls against Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium Mirpur, Bangladesh
3. 118 runs off 121 balls against Australia at ACA-VDCA Stadium Visakhapatnam, India
4. 105 runs off 104 BALLS against New Zealand at Nehru Stadium in Guwahati, India
5. Unbeaten 100 runs off just 83 balls against Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh
6. 107 runs off 93 balls against England at SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff, Wales
7. Unbeaten 112 runs off 98 balls at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi, India

Virat Kohli reached the milestone during the course of India's third ODI against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday January 17,2016, where he converted his third consecutive fifty into first century of the five-match series(had scores of 91 and 59 in the first two ODIs)

Virat Kohli's 117 off 117 balls(4x7 and 6x2) at the MCG on Sunday also made him only the third batsman to have a batting average of 50-plus upon reaching the 7000-run mark. The other two are India skipper MS Dhoni (52.01) and De Villiers (51.23)
This Ton was his 4th century against Australia.

Virat Kohli scores 7000+ Runs in ODI's playing his 169th match and in his 161st innings needed only 19 Runs to overtake South Africa's AB de Villiers , who achieved it in his 166th innings and in his 172nd match

Virat Kohli's 7000 runs include 24 hundreds and 36 fifties

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly needed 180 ODIs and 174 innings to reach the landmark. Following Kohli and Ganguly on the list are Brian Lara (183 innings), Desmond Haynes (183), Jacques Kallis (188) and Sachin Tendulkar (189).
