India and Australia are set to clash in an ODI and Twenty20 International series beginning on January 12. The series comprises of five ODIs and 3 Twenty20s. The last time the two teams met on field was for the 2015 World Cup semifinals.

Usman khawaja replaces David Warner for the 2nd and 3rd ODI's

Usman Khawaja has been drafted into the Australian squad for the second and third ODIs against India as cover for David Warner, who goes on paternity leave. Warner and his wife Candice are expecting their second child very soon

Four of Usman Khawaja 's last seven innings in Test and Big Bash League cricket have been hundreds. He hit them back-to-back against New Zealand in Brisbane and Perth, but missed out on the Day-Night Test in Adelaide with a hamstring injury. A century in the BBL on his return proved there was no lingering discomfort and then plundered 144 and 56 in the Melbourne Test against West Indies a few days later.

141* in Jaipur in 2013: After Aussies put a mammoth 359 runs on board batting first, Rohit deflated the George Bailey-led side with an unbeaten ton. India won the match by 9 wickets.
209 at Bangalore in 2013: Weeks after he hit his maiden ton against Australia, Rohit went up to another level by slamming his maiden double ton in limited-overs cricket. India won the match by 57 runs.

Australia take a 2-0 lead after beating India by 7 wickets with an over to spare




For the second consecutive time, Rohit Sharma's century has gone in vain as Australia easily chased down India's total of 308-8 at the Gabba, taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match ODI series.

Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh and George Bailey starred with the bat for the hosts while Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane hit half-centuries for India, to add to Rohit's ton









Ajinkya Rahane reached the 2,000 run-mark in the ODI's format in his 63rd match, same that of the former India captain Rahul Dravid
