Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis broke a 22-year-old world record by winning their 29th women’s doubles match in a row en route to their entry into the women’s doubles final of the WTA Sydney International, in Sydney.

Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis survived a scare to win their 29th consecutive match as they advanced to the final of the Sydney International on Thursday January 14,2016

The Indo-Swiss pair won 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 against Romanian Raluca Olaru and Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan on Court 1. They surpassed Gigi Fernandez and Natasha Zvereva's 1994 record of 28 straight victories
