Russia unveils its answer to the gay rainbow flag

Russia has unveiled its answer to the rainbow gay pride flag by issuing a blue and white design depicting the outline of a straight couple and three children above the words 'a real family'.
Presented as part of the annual Day of Family, Love and Fidelity celebrations earlier this week, the country's ruling United Russia party called the flag 'a response to same sex marriage'.
Andrei Lisovenko, deputy head of the United Russia branch in Moscow described gay marriage as a 'mockery' of the concept of family, adding: 'We have to warn against gay-fever at home and support traditional values in our country.'
The comments came in response to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to legalise gay marriage in all 50 American states - a move that prompted widespread international praise and saw the White House lit up in the colours of the rainbow flag.
