Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Dies of Cardiac Arrest while delivering lecture @ IIM Shillong,Meghalaya on Tuesday July 27,2015

 
Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, who would have turned 84 in October 2015 was confirmed dead nearly an hour after he was wheeled into the ICU of Bethany hospital in a critical condition following the collapse at around 6.30 PM.Arriving at the Indian Institute of Management(IIM) around 5.40 PM, Kalam took rest for sometime and started the lecture on 'Livable Planet' at 6.35 pm. He collapsed five minutes later, according to Director
Dr A P J Abdul Kalam was admitted to the Bethany hospital at 7 PM, a km away from the institute but showed no signs of life when he was brought to the hospital. 
Dr A M Kharbamon, a specialist who attended to Kalam after he was brought to the hospital, said he was declared dead at 7:45 pm.

Paying rich tributes to former President A P J Abdul Kalam, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today named the Kisanganj Agriculture college after him.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was scheduled to inaugurate the first phase of newly constructed building of Kisanganj Agriculture college today, which he cancelled following the death of Kalam.


"The Agriculture college will now be known as 'Dr Kalam Agriculture College Kisanganj'," Mr Kumar said in a statement 

The body of former president Kalam will be flown to New Delhi on Tuesday July 28,2015 by a special aircraft from Guwahati.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's body is currently kept at the Lokapriya Gopinath Borodoloi International Airport at Guwahati where it was brought from Shillong at 6:15 am by an Air Force helicopter.
An Indian Air Force aircraft has departed from the Guwahati airport carrying the mortal remains of former president APJ Abdul Kalam. The plane is expected to land at the Palam airport in Delhi at around 12.30 pm.

Dr A P J AbdulKalam's body flown to Rameswaram, last rites to take place on Thursday

The special aircraft took off from the Palam airport at around 8:15am on Wednesday July 29,2015 after all three forces gave a sendoff to the former head of the state and will reach Madurai in Tamil Nadu at around 12 noon on Wednesday.

From Madurai Dr A P J Abdul Kalam's mortal remains will then be carried in a chopper to his hometown Rameswaram for his final rites and is expected to reach Rameswaram by 1pm on Wednesday

Dr A P J Abdul Kalam's body will be kept at a school in Rameshwaram for people to pay their respects

The last rites will take place on Thursday at 11am with full military honours


Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and senior BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain were also present at the airport. Naidu and Parrikar are accompanying the mortal remains of Kalam to Rameswaram. Minister of State for Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan, who is from Tamil Nadu will also join the two Union ministers

Sand Artist Sudarsan Pattnaik's Tribute to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam



Odisha Sand Artist Sudarsan Pattnaik's created a sand sculpture at Puri beach to pay tribute to the former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam

"Tribute to common man, Missile Man, Bharat Ratna, People's President," read the messsge on the four feet high sand sculpture.
Pattnaik recalled that Kalam had invited him for the first time to Rastrapati Bhawan in 2005 when sand art was not well-known in the country and encouraged him a lot.
"It was a great honour for me when Kalam gave me a cheque of Rs 3,000 from his personal account. Today, we have lost the nation's Missile Man, People's President with a simple heart and beautiful mind and soul who was an inspiration to the nation's youth," he said.
