Australia's Marcus Stoinis hits six sixes in an over Wednesday July 08,2015

Marcus Stoinis, an allrounder playing for Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers in Australia's domestic circuit, matched a rare feat on Wednesday July 08,2015 as he hit National Indigenous Squad's medium-pacer for six sixes in an over.

The rare incident happened in a match at Allan Border Field where Stoinis managed to hit six maximums and also took 37 off the over.

Smith bowled a wide first ball while the rest were parked out of the ground.

The feat has only been achieved four times before in the history of cricket -

  • Gary Sobers being the first man to do it by taking Glamorgan's Malcolm Nash to the cleaners in the year 1968

  • It took quite a while, 17 years to be precise, to match Sober's record as former India captain Ravi Shastri repeated the same act by hitting Tilak Raj for six sixes in a Ranji Trophy match against Baroda in 1985

  • Herschelle Gibbs took good care of Netherlands spinner Daan van Bunge in the 50-over World Cup in 2007

  • Yuvraj Singh gave the same treatment to England seamer Stuart Broad in the 2007 T20 World Cup
