Hundreds of thousands of people are still waiting for their electricity to be turned back on after a weekend ice storm wreaked havoc from southwestern Ont,. to the Atlantic Coast.
Across Ontario more than 350,000 people remained without power early Dec 23,2013 Monday morning, and hydro officials were advising that it could take until Wednesday to get everyone reconnected.
In hardest hit Toronto where the ice splintered a huge number of trees, and turned roads and sidewalks into skating rinks, more than 250,000 hydro customers were still in the dark.
Significant challenges are expected for those planning on commuting around the GTA Monday as crews struggle to restore power and transit to hundreds of thousands of customers across the region in the wake of a massive weekend ice storm
In the meantime hundreds of thousands of residents across the GTA are doing their best to deal with no electricity and reduced mobility for a second night
