19 MPs joined the government in the second expansion and reshuffle by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in little over two years since he took over in May 2014
Among the newly inducted ministers, CR Chaudhary is the oldest at 68-years-old.
The youngest is Anupriya Patel from Uttar Pradesh, who is just 35-years-old.
10 of the new ministers are in their 60's, four in their 50's, another four in their 40's, and only one minister in her 30's.
Only two of the 19 new ministers are women
The average age of the new group is 57 years
There are two minority leaders - MJ Akbar and SS Ahluwalia (BJP) - and two women -- Anupriya Singh Patel (Apna Dal) and Krishna Raj.
The ministers come from 10 states - Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Karnataka and Assam.
Three are from Uttar Pradesh, where elections will be held in early 2017 -- Anupriya Singh Patel, MN Pandey and Krishna Raj - and three from Gujarat, where elections are due later next year.
The list of new ministers reveals a mix of professional expertise. While P P Chaudhary (BJP) is a senior Supreme Court advocate with over four decades of experience in constitutional litigation, Subhash Ram Rao Bhamre (BJP) is a well-known doctor with a super specialisation in cancer surgery and MJ Akbar (BJP) is a well-known journalist turned politician.
Arjun Ram Meghwal is a former bureaucrat from Rajasthan and Anil Madhav Dave is a published author and environmental activist.
Faggan Singh Kulaste and Vijay Goel have been central ministers, while Ramesh Jigajinagi, Purshotam Rupala, Jasvantsinh Bhabhor and Mahendra Nath Pandey have served as senior ministers in their states. They are all BJP leaders.
There is also fresh, young talent in Apna Dal's Anupriya Patel(35)and the BJP's Mansukh Mandaviya (BJP), who has worked in the agriculture sector in Gujarat.
The ruling BJP has kept its eye firmly on states where elections will be held and three new ministers are being inducted from UP, three from Gujarat and one, Ajay Tamta, from Uttarakhand - all states where elections will be held next year.
The expansion also focuses on more representation for backward castes and Dalits
Four of the ministers are Dalits, three are tribals and three are OBCs. There are also on each from the Brahmin and Jat communities. SS Ahluwalia is a Sikh and MJ Akbar is a Muslim
Anupriya Patel is a leader of the Kurmi caste. Mr Bhabhor and Mr Kulaste are members of Scheduled Tribes, while Mr Tamta, Ramdas Athalwale, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi and Krishna Raj, a BJP leader from UP, are members of Scheduled Castes.

The support of BJP, Patel's associates say, can help her claim the legacy of her father who built Apna Dal's base among OBCs, primarily his fellow castemen Kurmis.
Her inclusion in the Union Council of Ministers is apparently aimed at consolidating backward votes in poll bound UP, especially eastern parts of the state where another tall Kurmi leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been trying to make a foray ahead of the 2017 Assembly polls.
A Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, pass out, she was elected an MLA in 2012 and then entered the Lok Sabha two years later.
Anupriya also has Master's degrees in Psychology and Business Administration.
First Time BJP MP Krishna Raj Gets a Berth in Modi Cabinet
Krishna Raj is a first time BJP MP and one of the party's Dalit faces from Uttar Pradesh.
The 49-year-old had been a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1996 and 2007 from Mohamadi. She was elected in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Shahjahanpur seat.A post-graduate, she is active in the Lok Sabha and has participated in 50 debates on a variety of issues, including on water preservation, safety of women and Supreme Court's decision on ban of diesel taxis in Delhi
Prakash Javadekar, the lone minister to be promoted to Cabinet rank on Tuesday, said he will "dutifully" discharge the responsibility given to him
Javadekar held independent charge of the Environment Ministry while other MPs took oath as Ministers of State.
An MP from Maharashtra, SR Bhamre, who joined the Council of Ministers, said what could not be achieved in 60 years was done in the last two years by the Modi government,the only target of which is Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas.
