India has 35 World Heritage Sites, the sixth highest in the world

With the inclusion of three new World Heritage Sites, the number of culturally and historically important sites from India, recognized by UNESCO, has gone up to 35.

Another 46 monuments are awaiting review for possible selection as World Heritage Sites.
