47th Anniversary of Moon Landing July 20,1969 - July 20,2016

 


Almost about half a century ago, man achieved a feat, which formerly, not many on the earth would have thought was possible.

Neil Armstrong, an American astronaut became the first man to land on the moon on July 20, 1969.

With the successful landing of Apollo 11 — the rocket on which the three astronauts left on their mission — a wide range of opportunities in space exploration opened.

Wednesday July 20,2016  marks the anniversary of a very important accomplishment by mankind, it's the 47th anniversary of the moon landing.

On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 touched down on the lunar surface at 3:18 p.m. central time.
It only had 30 seconds worth of fuel remaining.

It had taken off on the morning of July 16, carrying Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.
