2016 Republican National Convention July 18 - 21,2016

The 2016 Republican National Convention will be held in Cleveland, Ohio at the Quicken Loans Arena July 18-21, 2016.

The Republican National Committee (RNC), the convention will host approximately 2,470 delegates and 2,302 alternate delegates from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and five territories.

The convention will also include approximately 15,000 credentialed media—an international press corps second only in size to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games—as well as a global audience that will witness a front row seat online thanks to our Internet and social media efforts.

Nearly 120 staffers will eventually live, dine and shop in the Cleveland area in preparation for the 2016 Republican National Convention. And roughly 50,000 people are expected to visit the Cleveland area during the gathering.

2016 will mark the fourth time the Republican Party will convene its convention in Ohio. The Buckeye State also played host to the 1876, 1924 and 1936 Republican National Conventions in Cincinnati (’76) and Cleveland (’24 and ’36)

With his running mate squared away and the Republican Party more or less behind him, Donald Trump prepares for a prime-time moment this week that few would have predicted a year ago: his anointment as the party's presidential nominee.

Donald Trump's coronation in Cleveland will come at the end of the four-day Republican National Convention that kicks off Monday July 18,2016

Over 100 Nude Women Pose Against Donald Trump in Cleveland

More than a hundred women stripped and posed naked with mirrors in Cleveland, answering a photographer's call to blend art with politics and portray Donald Trump as unfit for the White House.

They gathered on the eve of the Republican National Convention, where the brash New York billionaire will be anointed the party's nominee for president after winning a raucous primary race despite alarm from the party establishment and the country at large about his divisiveness.

He is a loser," photographer Spencer Tunick said after the sunrise shoot in which 130 women took part. One hundred of them will be featured in the picture to be unveiled shortly before the November 8 election.
The installation took place on private property in sight of the arena where the convention kicks off on Monday July 18,2016, the focus of multiple groups of protesters expected to take to the streets this week.

The owner gave permission, said Spencer Tunick, and so while public nudity in Cleveland is illegal, it was not possible for police to intervene.

Entitled "Everything She Says Means Everything," the photo art featured women of all shapes, colors and sizes participated, holding up mirrors toward the arena.

Spencer Tunick's website said the mirrors reflected "the knowledge and wisdom of progressive women and the concept of 'Mother Nature'... onto the convention center, cityscape and horizon of Cleveland."
