Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had, last month, announced that the
Capital would observe its third car-free day in East Delhi followed by
an announcement by Transport Minister Gopal Rai that the government had
chosen the usually congested stretch for the purpose.
In a bid to temporarily strengthen public transport infrastructure on the third instalment of car-free day, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has decided to run a special shuttle service on east Delhi’s Vikas Marg on December 22,2015
The DTC said that the special service, consisting of at least eight buses, would be in operation from 8 am to 4 pm between ITO and Anand Vihar Terminal on Vikas Marg and its officers and traffic supervisory staff would also be deployed to help commuters.
The Delhi government has also issued a toll free number— 1800118181 to answer any query of the commuters regarding the DTC bus services
