The world oldest tree has been found in Sweden. This is a 9,500-year-old Norwegian Spruce called “Old Tjikko”
The
visible portion of the 13-foot-tall (4-meter-tall) "Christmas tree"
isn't ancient, but its root system has been growing for 9,550 years,
according to a team led by Professor Leif Kullman
This tree was named after Professor Leif Kullman’s Siberian husky. He is a professor professor at Umea University's department of ecology and environmental science in Sweden, and discovered this tree in 2004.
The age of this tree was determined using carbon-14 dating.
