Goa Assembly goes fully digital as state prepares for 'paperless' Budget session

For the first time in the history of Goa Legislative Assembly, its upcoming Budget session scheduled to open on July 22,2014 will be majorly paperless with more than 95 per cent of the business going online.

Speaker of Legislative Assembly Rajendra Arlekar announced on Saturday Morning July 19,2014 that the assembly and paperless assembly concept, which was conceived long back, will be a reality during the coming session, which will be concluding on August 21,2014

A team from state directorate of Information Technology and Legislature wing has worked for more than one and half years now to get this concept executed, which the BJP-led government had announced in its very first session held in April 2012.

The business of the House including Question - Answers would be uploaded on the website, which would be accessible for the general public after the Question Hour.

"The legislative members have been directed to send their questions online, whose replies would also be sent online, 48 hours before the session day," the Speaker said.

The members of legislative assembly have been given special login and password so that they can access the material online, during the Session.

MLAs would be allowed to use laptops or e-tablets which will be connected through wi-fi, so that they can access the matter online.
