A major
fire broke out on the 21st floor of an upscale commercial building in
Andheri, Mumbai, on Friday July 18,2014
A fireman was killed and nine of his
colleagues injured in the incident.
Navy and Coast Guard helicopters had to be called in to evacuate the group of firefighters stuck atop the commercial building

firemen got trapped on the rooftop after managing to evacuate all
civilians from the tower.
Besides one firefighter who was declared brought dead at the hospital, the others are said to be out of danger.

Safety Norms were flouted in the building which led to several firemen being trapped in the building.
"It was a difficult task as 33 of my men got stuck when the fire reignited. They were coming down when this happened. Glass facade generally should have some openings which this building did not have. Smoke wasn't coming out. The staircase was also blocked. Movement got restricted," Regional Command Director fire services SH Nesarikar said.
