Bangladesh's Mohammad Ashraful and Mushfiqur Rahim in Record 5th Wicket Partnership
- Mohammad Ashraful(105) and Mushfiqur Rahim(157) put together 267-run stand,
the highest for Bangladesh for any wicket(previous best of
200 between Tamim Iqbal and Junaid Siddiq against India in Dhaka in 2010)in the 1st Test Match against Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium

The 267 Runs 5th Wicket partnership is also a new record at Galle for any wicket by any team
- During his knock, Ashraful became the
11th batsman to score 1000 test runs against Sri Lanka. Of his six test
hundreds, five have come against Sri Lanka.
- Mushfiqur Rahim on Monday March 11,2013 on Day 4 became the 1st Bangladeshi to score a double-century and he eventually got out for 200 Runs(in 321 Balls with 22x4 and 6x1)whereas Mohammad Ashraful scored 190 runs and missed out on his own Test double-hundred.
- Bangladesh were bowled out for a record 638 in their first innings by tea on the fourth day on March 11,2013 and it was Bangladesh's highest total in 76 Tests(previous highest 556 Runs against the West Indies in Dhaka in 2012)
Nice to see Bangladesh show some fight. Always liked Ashraful's batting.Hope the bowlers too complement the batting performance.
