Odisha sprinter Dutee Chand grabbed the spotlight once again as she won the gold in women's 100m dash with a fast timing in the second leg of the Indian Grand Prix athletics series at the NIS tracks in Patiala on Friday May 06,2016
Dutee Chand crossed the finish line in 11.37 secs to win the 100m sprint race, well ahead of HM Jyothi (Canara Bank, 11.57 secs) and her statemate Srabani Nanda (11.60 sces).
Dutee Chand had set a national record of 11.33 secs in the Federation Cup National Athletics Championships in New Delhi last month.
Dutee Chand had, however, missed the Rio Olympics qualification mark of 11.32secs by one-hundredth of a second
