Jeremy Paxman signs off Newsnight for the final time Wednesday June 18,2014

Jeremy Paxman signed off his final Newsnight tonight after 25 years presenting Newsnight with the words 'goodnight and goodbye' - but not before taking one last swipe at BBC bosses and ranting about Twitter.

The final show featured a number of memorable moments - including a cameo from Micheal Howard, a prickly interview with Peter Mandelson and a tandem bike ride with London Mayor Boris Johnson.

Jeremy Paxman finished the show by standing in front of a weather map and declaring: 'And tomorrow's weather more of the same, I don't know why they make such a fuss about it'
