Aam Aadmi Party(AAP)Expels Rebel MLA Vinod Kumar Binny- who had recently called Mr Kejriwal, Delhi's Chief Minister, a "liar" and a "dictator" - was expelled by AAP in a curt statement late on Jan 26,2014 Sunday evening: "This disciplinary committee has decided to expel Vinod Kumar Binny and terminate his primary membership from the party, for publicly making false statements against the party and its leadership, thereby bringing disrepute to the party."
The AAP had formed a disciplinary committee on January 19 to look into the matter. The committee was headed by Pankaj Gupta and other members included Ashish Talwar, Illyas Azmi, Yogendra Yadav and Gopal Rai
Note
Vinod Kumar Binny was a Congress councillor who was drawn to the anti-corruption campaign engineered by Gandhian activist Anna Hazare and Mr Kejriwal in 2011. He joined AAP when Mr Kejriwal launched it in 2012.
Vinod Kumar Binny had defeated Congress heavyweight Dr AK Walia, finance minister in the Sheila Dikshit government in the Delhi Assembly Polls
On January 16,2014 Vinod Kumar Binny had at a press conference accused AAP of straying from its ideology and cheating the people, charges he reiterated this morning.
He had also accused AAP of not functioning democratically, saying, "Five people take all the decisions, Arvind gets angry if people express any differences with him. He is a dictator. If anyone speaks against him, he starts shouting."
Arvind Kejriwal heads a minority government with 28 MLAs and the external support of eight Congress legislators and two others. It is a slim majority and Vinod Kumar Binny's expulsion will make it slimmer
