The Triple Entente (from French entente [ɑ̃tɑ̃t] "agreement") was the name given to the alliance among Great Britain, France and Russia after the signing of the Anglo-Russian Entente in 1907.
The Central Powers comprised of - Germany;Austria-Hungary;Turkey and Bulgaria.
The name "Central Powers" is derived from the location of these countries; all four were located between the Russian Empire in the east and France and the United Kingdom in the west.

More than 70 million military personnel, including 60 million Europeans, were mobilised and more than 9 million combatants were killed.
Result of the War
1.By the war's end, four major imperial powers—the German, Russian, Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman Empires—had been militarily and politically defeated and had ceased to exist. The former two states lost a great amount of territory, while the latter two were dismantled entirely. The map of central Europe was completely redrawn into several smaller states.
2.Treaty of Versailles was signed on 28 June 1919.The treaty was registered by the Secretariat of the League of Nations on October 21, 1919, and was printed in The League of Nations Treaty Series.Of the many provisions in the treaty, one of the most important and controversial required Germany to accept responsibility for causing the war along with Austria and Hungary
3.League of Nations an intergovernmental organisation founded as a result of the'Paris Peace Conference' that ended the world war I and it was the precursor for 'United Nations'(UN).The League was the first permanent international security organization whose principal mission was to maintain world peace. At its greatest extent from 28 September 1934 to 23 February 1935, it had 58 members.
