Virat Kohli led Team India are riding high on confidence and will look to extend their domination on the hapless Steve Smith and side in the three-match T20 series, starting this Saturday Oct 07,2017

India was in full control during the five-match ODI series and had an easy 4-1 win to reclaim the number one spot in the ODI rankings.

Virat Kolhi and men have looked flawless, be it against reigning world champions Australia or a new-look Sri Lanka.

The slyness of the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, followed by the rise of Hardik Pandya as the new all-rounder for team India gave Australia a tough time in the 50-overs format.

For the T20Is, currently, India lead Australia by 9-3 in head-to-head record.

Squads

India
Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma (VC), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni (WK), Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashish Nehra, Axar Patel.
Australia
Steve Smith (C), David Warner (VC), Jason Behrendorff, Dan Christian, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Patrick Cummins, Aaron Finch, Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Glenn Maxwell, Tim Paine, Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa

With 401 runs against the Aussies in T20Is, India skipper Virat Kohli stands 23 runs behind New Zealand's Martin Guptill (424) on the list of most runs against an opponent in the shortest format of the game. The Kiwi international is followed by Afghanistan's Mohammad Shehzad (406 runs against Ireland)

Virat Kohli is now just 69 runs short of overhauling Dilshan (1889) on the list of top run-getters in T20Is. Leading the chart is Kiwi international Brendon McCullum (2140 runs)

Virat Kohli stands atop alongside veteran Sri Lankan Tillakaratne Dilshan and Windies batsman Chris Gayle on the list of most fifty-plus scores against an opponent in T20Is. All three of them have four such knocks to their name. Thus, if Kohli can carve yet another masterclass innings with the willow, he stands a chance to go clear at the top with five fifty-plus scores.
Rohit Sharma is just 27 runs short of becoming the first Indian opener to amass 1000 runs in T20Is as an opener.
