Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sheriff on Saturday Nov 26,2016 appointed Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa as the 16th chief of Army staff of Pakistan

Incumbent Army chief, General Raheel Sharif will hand over command to General Bajwa on November 29,2016

Lt General Bajwa has served as the Inspector General of Evaluation and Training at the General Headquarters (GHQ). He has also lead the Pakistan army's biggest formation, 10 Corps.
