Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL), on Saturday Oct 01,2016 said it has sold 1,37,277 units in September 2016, a highest-ever domestic monthly sales.
The company had sold 1,06,083 units in the same month previous year.
The growth was mostly led by its Mini (Alto and WagonR) and compact
(like Swift, Baleno and Celerio) segments, the company's latest report
on monthly sales said.
While the Mini segment grew 25 % year-on-year (YoY) at 44,395
units (versus 35,570 units) in September 2016, the compact segment grew 12 % to 50,324 units compared with 44,826 units in the corresponding
month last year.
In the utility vehicles segment, the sales grew multi-fold to 18,423
units last month compared with 6,331 units in the same month last year,
led by its latest models such as Vitara Brezza and S-Cross,
Its mid-size sedan Ciaz's also grew more than 50 per cent to 6,544 units
during September against 4,291 units in the same month last year.
